Sometimes I am reminded just how precious the skill of reading is, such as when I am reading to my little Buddha, watching his eyes light up when he recognizes a word to the corresponding picture.
Me: Where's the puppy?
Buddha: Pointing at the puppy, smiling
Me: What does the puppy say?
Buddha: Whhhoooo
Me: That's right, Whoof-Whoof
Of course, at 18 months a few of his new favorite words are "up", as in 'pick me up' and "no-no-no", as in let's change your diaper - "no-no-no" and running in the opposite direction...
So, this month I am committed to reading with, to, at, my little Buddha for at least an hour a day - whoa, before you say an hour, he won't sit that long - you are right. It will be 15 minutes here, 15 minutes there but, all and all it will add up to at least 60 minutes.
Also, would like to take the time out to thank all the Grandma's, Grandpa's, Aunties, Uncles, Mommies & Daddy's who read and engage there little bundles of joys everyday.
Happy Thanks-reading everyone!
